About 150 meters separate the island of Formentera from that of Espalmador. This island despite its small size, 3 square kilometers, hides many wonders inside. There are two ways to access Espalmador: one is by boat that travels from the port of Formentera, to Illetas, and finally reaches Espalmador; or the distance between the two islands can be covered by swimming (as long as the weather and the tide permit). The best known beach of this island is the 'Platja de S'Alga' of great extension, taking into account the size of the island, and considered a natural port due to its closed shape.
The watchtower (Torre de Sa Guardiola), which is located at the highest point, observes the passage of tourists along the coast of the island, which should not forget that it is private and as such should be respected ; and much more considering that it is considered a natural park due to the great variety of fauna and flora that inhabits it.
